What a reconciled Australia looks like to me.

Reconciliation is a commitment to building partnerships based on respect and the recognition of the distinctive rights of Indigenous people. It is about human rights and social justice for all Indigenous Australians.

In a reconciled Australia, Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians will have similar outcomes and experiences in health, education, rates of incarceration, housing & employment. A reconciled Australia will as a minimum, have a relative proportion of Indigenous Australians in key areas of the community including government, business, educational institutions and social services. Non-Indigenous Australians will recognise and respect the differences that exist between Indigenous and non-Indigenous cultures, values & beliefs.

It will be evident in everyday life that Indigenous Australians and their culture are valued and respected. Success will be the stereotype rather than failure.
